A walk through justmercy.nz

A new identity and website for a trust that connects New Zealand's response to human trafficking: one design system from logo to donation form, with giving and its back office built into the site.

Just Mercy Trust works on human trafficking and exploitation in Aotearoa New Zealand. It does not run front line services. It connects the organisations that do, builds their capability, and carries their voice into policy, here and across Oceania through the Oceania Freedom Network.

The trust needed to look as credible as the work it coordinates. I designed a new logo and lockup, set the colour and type, and produced a brand pack and guidelines. Then I designed the website in Figma as one system: every size, space and colour is a token, and the type scales smoothly from a phone to a large screen.

I built the site from that system as a set of bespoke components, so the pages match the design and stay consistent as the team adds to them. The home page carries a map of the region and the network's numbers. The About page explains the Theory of Change as an interactive diagram. The Facts page sets out what trafficking looks like in New Zealand, the signs to look for and how to report it.

Giving is part of the site, not a third party page. Supporters give by card or bank transfer in five short steps, and their progress is saved if they leave and come back. Behind it is a back office I built for the trust: every gift in one ledger, numbered receipts, email templates the team can edit with a live preview, and a log of every message sent.

The site went live at the end of August 2026.
